Summer 2017 Tutoring

July 10 – August 12

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN

CLaRI’s on-site summer program “One-to-one Reading & Writing Sessions” offers individualized tutoring to children entering Kindergarten through 12th grade. Certified Literacy Specialists, as well as UB Literacy Specialist graduate students, provide individualized literacy instruction using authentic literature, hands-on instruction, and best practices to tailor instruction to meet each child’s unique literacy and learning needs. We believe that all children can learn to read.

Children in regular education and special education classes working below grade level, on grade level, or above grade level are welcome to attend summer tutoring.

CLaRI provides instruction in one or all of the following areas: comprehension, fluency, spelling, and writing, based on parent and teacher information.

Sessions are 60 minutes in length, with 55 minutes of instruction and 5 minutes of parent debriefing. We offer morning, afternoon, evening, and Saturday morning sessions at various times during the week. The program runs for five weeks, from Monday, July 10th to Saturday, August 12th

PARENT DEBRIEFING
The last five minutes of every tutoring session is reserved for clinicians to speak to parents about the instruction provided during that lesson, homework (if desired), and their child’s literacy progress. In addition, after each tutoring session, parents will receive a brief summary sheet that states: what instruction occurred, what the child excelled in, what the child still needs to work on, and (if requested) homework.

One-to-one tutoring meets for five weeks, from July 10th – August 12th.

30 minutes each week (total of $100 – covers all 5 weeks)
45 minutes each week (total of $150 – covers all 5 weeks)

VACATION
If you will be on vacation during one of the five weeks of our summer program, CLaRI will be happy to accommodate this and schedule one make-up session. We cannot accommodate more than one week’s absence.
